Adding more Neighborhood Block Party program's is considered to be one of the most visible activities that the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department can do, as part of its Community-Oriented Policing program.
Invite community members into the department for an inside look at local law enforcement through lectures, demonstrations and discussion. Invite more community members to join the Citizens Academy
Ride-along programs utilize community involvement. Citizens get real-time insight into how situations are handled and what police work looks like in Los Gatos.
There essentially are two ways to police: reactive and proactive. Reactive policing is epitomized by officers responding to calls-for-service. Proactive policing is getting out in front of events in the hopes of preventing crimes and working with the community to reduce crimes.
